Nothing but a Shadow
I am shade, nothing but a tinged shadow.
I stay in the cool invisible corners of your vision.
Staying speechless, breathless, motionless.
When you turn to look, I seep into the shadows and melt against the wall.
I dwell behind, to the sides, in every spot imaginable.
But when it is time, I uncoil from my murky hiding place and strike.
Before you have a chance to see me, I become a vermillion face in the crowd.
