The Honeybees and Bumblebee

Alongside the green grass, small purple flowers stand.
Their heads held high and seem so proud.
I watch as tiny, yellow, honeybees fly from flower to flower.
They buzz back and forth, hovering, or landing.
They wiggle inside each flower,
And then a few seconds later, fly out again.

Suddenly, a large bumblebee appears.
He is big, nearly four times larger than the honeybees.
He makes his way to a particularly small purple blossom.

When he lands, I actually laugh!
He is so heavy that the flower bends and brushes the ground.
But the honeybees do not mind.
Five seconds later, he is ready to leave, but is stuck.

I walk, make a small tear in the delicate petals, and he zooms out.
Before departing, he flies level with my eyes for a few brief seconds
As if to say thank you.
I don’t know where I am, but I think it might be heaven.
