In Harmony

Flowing out so gently and calming
Is the music my cello makes
He is alive, a friend of mine
Relaxing those around us
Each of us playing the other
My cello is special
An instrument of peace
He feels smooth as silk
And smells of fresh wood
Also our friend the bow
Delicate but powerful
He keeps the cycle of music
And releases it when I play
His horsehairs embrace the strings of my cello
Balancing the world with music
Holding tight to my dreams
Until both components let loose those dreams
So they can become my future
And all three of us can live in harmony forever
As a family should.
