Niki
My dad named me Niki.
Niki like a girl version of Nicholas
that means two trees in Japanese.
Or like delicate eyes glimmering like stars.
When I think of Niki
I think of diamonds bursting in a dark cave
like the silvery daybreak
wishing for a mountain to sit on,
like the watercolor aqua painting
or the pretty color of leaves in fall—
red, yellow and orange.
I am Niki Motoe Tsubota.
And I will wish
For all my dreams to bloom.
