A Puppy’s Proposal

I beg you, buy me, little boy.
Please pet me, love me, show me joy.
This cage I’m trapped in makes me tear,
I long to frolic far from here.

I’ll roll and sit upon command.
I’ll use the bathroom on the sand.
Just take me home with you to stay,
And I will never run away.

I’ll kiss your face and wag my tail,
Your tricks I promise not to fail.
A snuggle you’ll receive when sad,
Please free me, lad, or I’ll go mad.

I promise not to scare your cat,
I’ll wipe my paws off on the mat.
I love all felines, young and old,
“You’ve such great manners,” I’ve been told.

Your Christmas cash and not much more,
Will save me from this dreary store.
Just pay the cashier on your right,
And life will be a true delight.
